We live in a consumeristic society. New products and services arrive on the market and whether they apply to our lifestyle or not, they tend to catch our eye. New phones look shiny, regardless of the fact that we just got the newest iPhone one year ago and it still functions wonderfully. What is new and hot garners attention of the average consumer.
According to Forbes, “The number of U.S. consumers identifying as vegan grew from 1% to 6% between 2014 and 2017, a 600% increase, according to GlobalData. That’s still a pretty small portion of the total, but other data reveal growing interest in plant-based foods by consumers who don’t consider themselves vegetarian or vegan.” Source: The Growing Acceptance Of Veganism This means when people see new plant based or vegan products, they want to try them, whether they are vegan or not. The drive toward consumerism coupled with curiosity about all of these new vegan products and services leads people to dig deeper into why others are turning to veganism as a way of life.
